The May meeting was one of our best attended with a full complement of members and guests eager to hear about Don Parton’s experiences of running a secondhand bookshop in the Cotswolds.
Don, who has been a member of the Society for some years, revealed hidden talents as a speaker, keeping us absorbed and entertained as he recounted anecdotes about his customers – some famous, some eccentric, all interesting.
He also showed some of the wonderful old volumes he had collected over the years with stories about their former owners and how the books had come to be in his possession.
