Christmas Party 2012

Our Christmas parties always include three essential ingredients – good food, good company and excellent entertainment. This year did not disappoint.

An excellent three course dinner was cooked and served by events organiser Louise Gibbon with her helpers in the kitchen Diane, Angela and Robert. Game terrine was followed by steak and ale pie and topped off with a delicious trifle.

Between courses we were entertained by member John Clegg accompanied by Robert Hewitt on piano performing some of the songs made famous by Michael Flanders and Donald Swann. Members joined in enthusiastically with the choruses and the rafters rang to the rendering of ‘Mud, mud, glorious mud’ and  ‘The gasman cometh’.

Patron Simon Brett thanked the committee and all who had helped to make the evening such a success.
