Dr. Cane has been Dean of Portsmouth since March 2019 following a decade as Canon Chancellor of Chichester Cathedral. He has previously worked as a University Chaplain, Diocesan Adult Education Officer and Parish Priest. His first degree was in English, and he has a longstanding interest in religious and theological themes in literature, art and film. He has substantial teaching experience, including as a visiting lecturer at the Universities of Brighton, Chichester and Exeter.
