August is the month of our summer party when we have the opportunity for more conversation, getting to know each other better and dining. This year we will host an Italian themed evening with a three course meal. Between courses, member Richard Davies will talk about the Anglo-Italian diplomat/writer Daniele Vare whose book ‘The Maker of Heavenly Trousers’ has recently been re-issued by Penguin.
In December we don our finery and decorate the hall for our Christmas party. Last year a three-course meal was prepared and served by Louise and her team of helpers and there was entertainment from John Clegg singing well-remembered songs by Michael Flanders and Donald Swann.
