Our speaker for July ’26 is a professor of literature at Reading University. She will be speaking about the history of The Book Society (1929-’69).
Her research interests focus on literature in the modern period. She has broad research interests in literary history, publishing, and print culture and her work is underscored by questions of feminism and class. She is currently working on a history of publishing and has various editorial interests in the book world.
Her book “Recommended ” was published in 2025.
