Alison, our October ’24 speaker, is an author/ researcher /Lecturer and Course Leader in Creative Writing at the University of Portsmouth. Her Ph.D was on ‘divine inspiration’ in literature.

Her teaching specialisms include fairy tales and philosophy; epic poetry and historical novels; playwriting; and contemporary literary fiction.

She has published several novels including:

Pencilwood (2015)

True Picture (2021)

Alison lives in the Isle of Wight in an old church and has three ‘young adult’ children.
