‘A Short Story Laid Bare’ – talk by Peter Lovesey

Local crime writer Peter Lovesey made a welcome return to the Society for the October meeting. With his talk entitled ‘A Short Story Laid Bare’ he took us through ‘Angela’s Alterations’, one of his short crime stories. Pausing at significant points in the plot he teased us with the question, ‘what do think happens next?’

Most members were familiar with this format due to Peter’s previous visits to the Society and their suggestions came thick and fast amid much laughter. Blackmail, a scam, and murder featured in their ideas but it wasn’t until the end that all was revealed with a very intriguing and clever twist in the tail.

A most enjoyable and light-hearted evening of entertainment.
