Elizabeth Cassie

Elizabeth Cassie trained for the theatre at the Rose Bruford Drama School and began her career in repertory. After some years in the theatre she moved into radio and for several years was a presenter and storyteller on the BBC’s ‘Listen with Mother’.

During a break to bring up her family she travelled to Austria and then to the United States where she began developing a series of programmes of dramatic readings for solo performance.

She performed ‘Mothers and Daughters’ at the Society’s 2016 meeting with readings from Jane Austen, Louisa May Alcott and others and in 2017 presented readings on ‘The Language of Love’.

Elizabeth last joined us on 6th February, 2019 for a talk on Women Abroad, about intrepid 19th century travellers who wrote about their experiences.

We look forward to hearing some entertaining festive readings on December 1st, 2021.
